Our service is operated by Sophia Sakellis, a highly qualified native Greek speaker
who completed her primary, secondary and tertiary education in Greece, obtaining a Bachelor of Science equiv. degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece, and, subsequently, a Master of Science in Physics from the University of NSW, where she also worked as a Tutor while doing research in Astrophysics.

Sophia was awarded a NAATI Professional Accreditation in 1997
(English into Greek & Greek into English), and is a Certified Professional Translator, working as a panel translator for leading agencies and government departments. She is a professional member of the Australian Institute of Interpreters & Translators (AUSIT).

More recently, Sophia completed a Diploma of Language Studies,
a Master of Arts by Research, and a PhD, at the Department of
Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies, University of Sydney.

She has also taught Advanced Greek and Translation Studies as a Lecturer
at the University of NSW, at Macquarie University's Department of Linguistics,
and at the University of Sydney's Department of Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies.

Sophia takes an active interest in both the Greek and the English language, literature and culture, and keeps in touch with new terminology and the latest advancements in technology and its applications.
